I’ve been circling a public writing practice for years. A place for creative expression, business building, cultivating connection, and gathering an audience. The solutions have varied with intermittent consistency. There was a Mailchimp newsletter I sent monthly for almost a year. There are a couple of posts on Medium from years ago. A smattering of mini-essays on Instagram. Bits and pieces of writing scattered across the internet over time.

And yet, I’m here. Starting a new container. Launching a blog. A new tool. Again.

**The best tool is the one you use.**

A new shiny tool won’t provide the clarity and power of a deeply resounding writing and publishing practice. Switching tools won’t change my behavior.

*So, what is different this time?*

### Changing Expectations

I am creating this space as a container articulating the internal narrative and the behind-the-scenes of the adventures and explorations that create my work and life.

What am I willing to commit to doing?

- Blocking time to write.
- Batch writing.
- Publishing at least monthly.
- Single-tasking conversations.
- Making strategic choices and trade-offs to do this thing and therefore not other things.
- Follow my energy.
- Blocking different times to respond and engage.
- Respond at my pace.

What am I not willing to do?

- Niching down.
- Make permanent decisions.

### Beginning

Clarity is powerful. And doing brings clarity. So, here I am. Beginning.
